Project Proposals

2/22/12

  1. I’m making a book. I suppose it would be called an altered book. The subject matter will be based on a poem I wrote, each page will be imagery that describes the stanza. It will be the size of a children’s book, I’m shooting for 20 pages.
  2. The purpose will be to communicate in imagery what I’m trying to communicate through words.
  3. The materials will include a children’s book, paint, markers, pastels, oil paint sticks, and charcoal, basically anything I can get my hands on.
  4. I will complete the project by March 10th I still need to obtain a children’s book at this point.

  1. I am going to paint portraits of friends and family members. I want to paint about 15 paintings and they will probably be about the same height as my other paintings.
  2. The purpose is to touch an important aspect of painting that I haven’t spent much time on. I never really dipped into painting portraits and it’s something that I want to try. I’m going to recreate my friends and family into my own style.
  3. I will use acrylic paint, house paint, mixed media, and paper.
  4. I will finish the series by March 10th.

11/9/11

1.    I am going to continue to paint what I have been painting since my last project proposal. I’ll be working with the same subject matter, same quantity, and same size.
2.    The purpose is to explore a specific style without becoming too comfortable. To create in my own image with a challenge.
3.    Mostly acrylic paint on paper. Though I want to work on found objects such as wood, metal, etc.
4.    I’ll have this finished by 12/15/11.

10/13/11

1.    I will make 5 paintings at first to see if I am ready to continue this project. If the 5 paintings are moderately successful I will continue to create maybe 10-20. They will be my standard quality acrylic paint on paper. I want to, for lack of better words “freestyle.” I want to explore what I can do with my characters now that I have strengthened my composition as well as my abstractions.
2.    The purpose is t recognize a style or an individual approach to painting. To see if I simply “still got it.”
3.    Acrylic paint and mixed media on paper.
4.    The five paintings will be complete by  10/21/11.

10/6/11

1.    I will create 5 Paintings on paper with acrylic paint and house paint. The subject matter of the paintings will be non- objective. I will paint abstract expressionistic paintings.
2.    The purpose is to gain a new sense of consciousness with the color fields I normally work in and to further develop my abstractions as well as my characters.
3.    Acrylic paint, house paint, paper, and mixed media.
4.    They will be completed by 10/17/11.

9/9/11

1. I am going to produce between 10-15 paintings on paper, primarily with acrylic paint and house paint. The subject matter will recreating famous paintings in my own style. I will work on paper the size I usually work in.

2. The purpose is to develop new characters and build a stronger sense of composition. If I can recreate the paintings done by professionals maybe I can find a secret formula that they all know. Working on composition is a big part of my evolution as an artist.

3. Acrylic paint, house paint, paper, mixed media.

4. It’s always hard to set a date though I feel as though I could accomplish my goal 9/30/11
