There’s not much to be said about my artwork. Except that the works are obviously of personal subject manner. I wish I could specifically tell you about the narratives of my paintings or what inspired me to paint them, but I feel as though my artwork is too controversial for school. Anyway I always disliked writing these because I feel as though artist’s statements defeat the purpose of the artwork itself. My artwork does have meaning, but just because the work means something to me doesn’t mean it should mean the same thing to the general public. The whole purpose of my art is to take what you perceive, art that can be easily read and understood by an individual’s point of view. So to sit here and write a statement that needs to apply to a body of work is useless. I can’t write a general statement about my work, so observe the work and take whatever meaning and emotion you get from it because that very feeling you might feel is what that particular piece is about. Besides if I were to communicate what I paint into words I would be a writer, not a painter.
